SBU Academy and MIP Hold Conference on Information Security of State

On March 30th, the IX All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Topical Issues of Managing the State’s Information Security’, organized by the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) with the support of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, was held.

Dmytro Zolotukhin, the Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine and co-Chair of the Conference, made a welcoming speech and noted that the protection of the state’s security in the information field is on the top of the agenda of Ukraine’s state policy. “That is why the implementation of the Information Security Doctrine, drafted by the Ministry, is an effective mechanism of countering information aggression and should serve as a beacon for bodies of state power to act jointly,” the Deputy Minister noted. During the event, Zolotukhin also met with cadets of the SBU National Academy.

The participants of the panel discussions of the Conference discussed the issues of ensuring information security, protecting the information space, establishing a system of ensuring Ukraine’s cybersecurity, improving national legislation in terms of protecting sensitive and highly sensitive information, international cooperation in the sphere of ensuring information security, updating training courses for specialists in the state’s information security.

Particular attention was drawn to the issue of training strategic communications specialists. In particular, during the round table, the participants discussed the issue of coordination of universities in that field, as well as laying down unified approaches to the education amid countering hybrid threats.
