MIP Presents "Speak Ukrainian," Website for Learning Ukrainian for Foreigners
On 28 February 2019, a diplomatic reception was held at the Diplomatic Academy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, presenting “Speak Ukrainian,” a website for studying the Ukrainian language for foreigners.
“The world is becoming digital and faster. And, of course, we are to present the Ukrainian language with those trends in view. That is why we decided to support the project helping study Ukrainian online. I am sure that this site will come in handy for many people—both in Ukraine and abroad,” the State Secretary of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, Artem Bidenko, was quoted as saying.
Serhii Ustymenko, Head of the Public Diplomacy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stressed that the Ministry undertook to distribute information about the side abroad as wide as possible through Ukrainian diplomatic missions.
The event was attended by members of the diplomatic missions in Ukraine and representatives of educational organisations and institutions concerned with the use of the site.
The site was designed in 2018 by the order of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine pursuant to the President’s decree on urgent measures to strengthen the state status of the Ukrainian language (No. 156/2018).
The site is available via this link.
